The season begins with spring bulbs and flowering trees and shrubs and a magnificent display of rhododendrons and azaleas.
As the rhododendrons and azaleas fade and spring turns to summer, the quarry garden develops into a green oasis with the spectacular waterfall as its centrepiece. Shrub roses are at their best in June, when the striking display of herbaceous flowers begins.
Herbaceous colour continues well into autumn. Autumn bulbs now appear along with hips and berries. Autumn tints bring the season to a dramatic finale.
